            The Burt County Board of Supervisors met this date pursuant to adjournment of April 28 and as posted and advertised with all members present:  Chairman Morrow, Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.

 

            The meeting was called to order at 9 A.M. upon motion by Hennig and seconded by Rollins with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

            Visiting the board were Peggy Smith, Jim Huffman, Mark Jackson and Kevin Petersen.

 

            The following Miscellaneous Receipts for April 2005 in the amount of $143,912.82 were approved upon motion by Newill and seconded by Rollins with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

            The County Clerk report of fees for April and the Burt County Bridge Commission report for April were approved upon motion by Hennig and seconded by Swenson with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

            The minutes of the previous meeting were approved upon motion by Anderson and seconded by Hennig with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

            Quality Phased Construction Approval for Livestock Waste Control Facility for Ronnfeldt Farms from the Department of Environmental Quality was placed on file.

 

            Board member Swenson offered the following Resolution and moved for its adoption:

 

                                                             R E S O L U T I O N #3105051001

 

            WHEREAS, the county borrowed money from the Inheritance Tax Fund in earlier months of the fiscal year because of computer changes in the Treasurer’s Office.

            NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Burt County Board of Supervisors that half of that amount be transferred at this time in the amount of $232,250.00.  The second half of those funds will be transferred back to the Inheritance Tax Fund in June.

            Board member Rollins seconded the motion and the Chairman declared it adopted with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

 

            Board member Swenson offered the following Resolution and moved for its adoption:

 

                                                                   RESOLUTION #310505102

 

            WHEREAS, it is now time to transfer more of the road funds from the General Fund to the Road Fund in order to operate and per the Burt County budget document.

            NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Burt County Board of Supervisors that $250,000.00 be transferred at this time and the remaining balance will be transferred in June.

            Board member Rollins seconded the motion and the Chairman declared it adopted with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

            The clerk presented papers concerning the merger of Oakland City Fire District and Oakland Rural Fire District.  Hearing will be set in the near future to approve this merger.

 

            Upon motion by Swenson and seconded by Anderson, special liquor license for the Oakland Figure 8 Race held during the County Fair, was approved with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.

 

            Upon motion by Newill and seconded by Swenson, Jay Hovendick and Pat Tobin were nominated as members of the Planning Commission with roll call vote as follows:  Ayes-Swenson, Newill, Rogers, Hennig, Anderson and Rollins.  Nayes-None.  These two persons will be called into the next meeting for interviews, with final vote taken for a new member at that time.

 

            There being no further business to come before the board at this time, it stands adjourned at 10:20 A.M. until 9 A.M. May 27, 2005.
